Hi Are your Meehans related to Michael Meehan (1808-1878) who married Ellen Lunney (1842-1908)? They lived in Brudenel Ontario and had 7 kids. He died young and she moved back home to Fitzroy Township- then to Almonte, Ontario. I would love to hear from you. Jeri Lunney
Hi: Not that I'm aware of. I have only found Patrick Meehan (1806 - 1886). Apparently he emigrated from Donegal. I first found him in Kingston Ontario in 1845. The family then moved to Belleville according to the 1861 Census.
Hi Theresa: No, this is a family photo of the Faulkners. The lady in the white dress is my grandmother Isabel Faulkner she married George Meehan. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of my Meehan family.
Jeri- I am researching my Cox line from Buckland England, and as your blog mentions the Coxes-Abrahams-Wards are related to the Howsons through James Ward. I have copied your Howson Family part 2 to share with other researchers of the Cox line, with your permission. I would also like to add your name to the copy. Please contact me at maggiemuss@gmail.com. I descend from Philip and Mary (Ward) Cox's son David.
Theresa, are you the daughter of Maria Coselli. I have all kind of information about her ancestry. Actually I remember her grandmother, who died in 1950, when I was 10 years old.
Hello Jerri, I am the ggggrandson of Daniel Crew and his wife Mary Jane (nee Taylor), who moved from PEI to Ontario, and are buried in St. Margaret in the Pines cemetery in Scarborough. A photo of their headstone is available on the cemetery's website. I too have been trying to link the Crew family to their roots in England. Also, family lore suggests that Mary Jane's mother was a Mi'kmaq from St. Peter's Island, off PEI, who saved her future husband, Scotsman James Taylor, from drowning; however, no proof of this has come to light. Mary Jane lived to be 102, and resided at the Halfway House, with two of her son's who drove stagecoach and operated the inn. You likely know that the Halfway House is now at Black Creek Pioneer Village.
Thanks for getting in touch. Without definite proof I'm leaning to this being the same family from Bramley, Leeds, Yorkshire with parents John Crew and Dinah Scurrah Rhodes. The birth of son William Scerrah Crew in Yorkshire in 1816 has made me think that John and Dinah were the parents. Also the Crew family that emigrated to PEI were Daniel, Benjamin, George and Joseph which are the same names as the Yorkshire family. Unfortunately I can't link my George to the family as I haven't found a baptismal registration for him. However, family lore indicates that Daniel was George's brother and that Alice Crew daughter of George used to visit the Halfway House on a regular basis. Jerri
Hi Jerri. I'm researching the Newton family as my wife is a descendant. I really enjoyed your research on Henry Newton and Mary Bryan - it helped me fill in a gap on the Canadian Newtons.
I have some more information on Henry's children and his brother William Newton who married Jane Patrick and emigrated to Australia, and another brother Robert who married Margaret (Killian) and emigrated to New York. They were collectively known as The Newtons of Ferbane. Robert's son William returned to Kings County and is my wife's great grandfather. Best wishes Martin

Hi Jerri, Love the family photo. Is the lady in the white dress is Sarah Meehan?
